Go PSU!
Oh my... I forget what day it is! I can't believe it's almost April! Where has the time gone?
Well, I am a bit behind on blogging, I had an interview at Penn State March 13, which is totally my number-one-top-choice school! I never really expected to get an interview there, but once I went, well I feel like there's no going back. I hate to get my hopes up because as reality sets in (and in inevitably it will) I probably have the least chance of getting in there among those that I applied to. doh! They are supposed to get back to me by the end of April. You know, it's about waiting, waiting, then more waiting!
I heard back from Saint Louis University, I am an alternate (they won't tell me which number) for their fall class, meaning if someone who is already accepted decides not to attend (which happens frequently as people who get accepted at one school are frequently accepted to multiple schools.) The magic day, May 15th, is when people holding multiple acceptances must choose ONE school as their multiple acceptances are made known to each school they are accepted to. Meaning... after May 15th, there is a huge chance of movement on the alternate list. For example, last year about 6,000 applicants held the 16,000 spots available. Point being: you can't attend more than one school, so choose one already and let me have your spot! I withdrew from AZCOM as soon as I decided on KCOM. so there.
I did not hear from U of A as to if I am an alternate yesterday via email, meaning I am not accepted. Frankly they have been pissing me off since last year with their system of acceptance, ect. They do it differently than any other school and it's just annoying. I think Wilbut the Wildcat needs a pitchfork up his butt to know what's good for him. I improved my MCAT score by 4 pts, jumping form around the 50th percentile to around the 75th percentile, started volunteering and tutoring and my GPA was a bit higher as well. I won't try to over-analyze it, it just does not make sense that I could be an alternate @ SLU in a pool of over 6k applicants, but not be one of about 150/500 accepted applicants or alternates @ UA. hmmm... my spirits are high though, I am more than excited to be going to KCOM which is an amazing school. I'll hear from Penn State soon (crossing both fingers and toes for that one!) What is meant to be will be, it's just waiting that gets old.
